Basic language is English.
By default, the source text and the name of the page are created in English.
To create the source text in another (non-English) language, it is necessary to use the prefix in the page name: language code - exclamation mark - space.
The language code must begin with a capital letter.
For example: "Fr! " "De! " "Ru! "
Pages can have translations into other languages, which are subpages of the source page. The subpage name is the language code.
For example: "/fr" "/de" "/ru "
Prefixes intended for creating texts in other languages are language prefixes. The name of each language prefix is the system language code, starting with a capital letter with an exclamation point and a space after it. For example: "Fr! " "De! " "Ru! "
Additionally, you can read About languages in MediaWiki and Language codes.
Each page can have subpages. The full name of the subpage is obtained by adding a slash and the subpage name: ParentPageName/SubpageName
Subpages that are translations of the source page for which the name of the subpage is a language code are called “language subpages”.
For example, without language prefix:
Source page- EnglishSource page/fr- translation of "Source page" in FrenchSource page/de- translation of "Source page" in German
For example, with the prefix "Fr! ":
Fr! Page source Fr- FrenchFr! Page source Fr/de- translation of "Fr! Page source Fr" in GermanFr! Page source Fr/en- translation of "Fr! Page source Fr" in English
